"Guns Attack" — 4-227 ARB (Tiger / Gunner Motif)
4-227 ARB "Guns" Apache battalion patch — Bengal tiger gunner motif with the unit's signature "GUNS ATTACK" battalion motto.
Unit History & Context: The 4th Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment — "Guns" — is an Apache attack reconnaissance battalion of the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. The battalion was reactivated in November 2005 at Fort Hood (now Fort Cavazos) and deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08, where it served a 15-month combat tour. The 4-227 traces its lineage to the Army's first armed helicopter unit — the Utility Tactical Transport Company, known simply as "First with Guns!" — and that heritage is captured directly in the battalion's "GUNS ATTACK" motto.
Symbology: Bengal tiger figure operates a heavy weapon — the predator-with-gun motif referencing both the AH-64's M230 30mm chain gun and the tiger's natural aggression. "ATTACK" tab on left, "GUNS ATTACK" arc on right. Yellow/gold attack-aviation border.
For Collectors: Strong battalion-level patch tied to a well-documented unit lineage. Highly collectible for 1st Cav and Apache community veterans.
